These terms cover the digital books sold on this site: The Notebook I Didn't Finish, Before Someday, and Victor's Toolkit.
Refunds
What you are buying. Every product here is a digital file (PDF). There is nothing physical to ship and nothing to send back. Files are delivered in full, immediately after purchase.
No refunds for change of mind. Because you receive the complete product the moment you pay, we do not offer refunds, exchanges, or partial credits once the files have been delivered. That includes change of mind, buying the wrong item by mistake, deciding you already own something similar, or never getting around to reading it.
Everything we claim about the contents is on the product page before checkout, and every research source in the books is listed publicly at rourkehallden.com/sources. You can check the substance of what you are buying before you spend anything.
When we refund you in full, without argument:
- The files never arrived, or the download does not work and we cannot fix it for you
- The files are corrupted, unreadable, or materially different from what the product page described
- You were charged more than once for the same order
- Your payment method was used without your permission
Email theseccretchest@gmail.com with your order number and one line about the problem. We reply within 3 business days. Approved refunds return to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
EU and UK customers — right of withdrawal. Under EU and UK consumer law you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. By completing checkout and accessing the download, you expressly consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose that 14-day right of withdrawal. This does not remove your statutory rights where a product is faulty or not as described — those cases are covered above.
Before you file a chargeback. If something is genuinely wrong, email us first. It is faster than a chargeback and we are not difficult about any of the cases listed above.
Terms of use
What you get. A licence to read and use the files for your own personal use. The files are yours to keep. The copyright stays with us.
What you may do. Read the files on any device you own. Print them for your own use — including the journal and toolkit pages, which are designed to be written on.
What you may not do.
- Share, resell, republish, or redistribute the files or their contents
- Upload them to file-sharing sites, group chats, torrent trackers, or membership sites
- Reuse the text or the research write-ups inside your own paid product without written permission
We may revoke access to purchased files where we find redistribution or another clear breach of these terms.
What this content is, and is not
The Notebook I Didn't Finish, Before Someday and Victor's Toolkit are works of fiction built around real, cited research. Victor is a character. The studies he cites are real, named, and listed at rourkehallden.com/sources.
The material is for general education and personal reflection. It is not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional.
The life-expectancy estimate on this site is a rough statistical illustration built from broad population averages and a handful of lifestyle factors. It is not a prediction about you, and it is not a medical or actuarial assessment.
We do not guarantee any particular outcome in your life, health, relationships, work, or finances. What you do with the material is yours.

These books deal directly with mortality, regret, and shame. If you are having thoughts of harming yourself, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis helpline. A book is not the right help for that, and we would rather you were safe than reading.
